PTO

I have gotten way behind on blogging! I wanted to thank our PTO for the nice fence they paid to have put at our playground. It looks great and will be a good safety feature. Thanks to you parents that supported our "walk-a-thon".

I also want to recognize our new teacher of the year and assistant of the year. Rosalee Noles is our new TOY and Linda Brown is our new AOY. Congratulations to both of them.

Updated Blog

I am finally getting around to updating my blog. Things have been so busy with the first few days of school. I want to remind everyone of the "Walk-a-thon" on September 28th. You should have received information on this from the PTO. This will be our biggest fund-raiser, and possibly the only PTO fund-raiser. We did have a scheduling conflict with the first grade trip to Patterson Farms. We have rescheduled that field trip to October 15th. Our first PTO General Meeting will be on September 19th at 7:00 PM.

It has been interesting seeing the students and parents coming into school this year. Many are coming for the first time and I know it can be a little stressful on parents and children. I hope we have made you feel welcome!

Class Rosters

We will post class rosters on the 20th of August for first grade students. These will be placed in the windows of the front entrance. We will try to have kindergarten posted by the 21st in the same area. The only problem with kindergarten is the fact that they will have just been screened the day before. We will definitely have all rosters posted by August 22nd which is our Orientation.

Smartboard

The Smartboard is here! We will install this in our computer lab. It is also portable, and teachers may use this in their rooms. I am excited about this interactive form of technology. Our students will enjoy using this and learning from the experience!

Kindergarten Registration

THINGS YOU NEED TO HAVE TO REGISTER YOUR CHILD FOR KINDERGARTEN:

Completed Enrollment Form

Completed Home Language Form

Certified Birth Certificate

Immunization Record (Up to date)

Health Assessment (Completed by 8-27-2007)

Copy of Child's Social Security Card

Proof of Your Address

Parking lot; etc.

I am pleased to announce that the paving of the back parking lot is ahead of schedule. In addition to this, they also paved the fire lane. It really looks good.

Our custodians are almost finished with the floors in the kindergarten building. They are shining so much that they look almost wet! Mr. Hubbard and Mr. Bass take a lot of pride in their work, and it shows!

We currently have 121 students enrolled in kindergarten. I'm sure these numbers will increase as the summer progresses.

This is a test

I am still experimenting with blogging. This is an attempt to add a photo. This week I have been working on class rosters for the first grade. I will develop rosters for kindergarten after screening in August.

We will be having our parking lot paved near the first grade wing on July 16th! This will help out tremendously with our parking situation. Also, help the teachers that have been parking up there keep out of the mud.
